No way, I was just about to publish on that same topic! Looks like you beat me to the punch. Drat. Guess it's back to the drawing board... or whatever you botanist types use!

Who knows, maybe I'll show up just to see what my rival has been working on ;-)

I wish I could go, but I have class. Will it go until after 10:40? That's when my class gets out. You should stall until 10:40 and then serve refreshments.

Good luck Maria! I know that you'll do great! I wish I could be there to support you.

Yes, it really is going to happen. And you really will graduate. And you really will be part of the regular working world. (Well, unless you get a PhD...)

How exciting!!!!

Josh: I never suspected in all our conversations about linguistics and genetics that there was enough overlap between the two for us to be studying the same thing! Or were you implying that you used your computer hacking skills to break into my files and you were ready to publish my data under your name (hmm . . . if this is the case, maybe I should be more careful about where I leave my electronic journal . . .)
Laura: You have class every Tuesday! Only one Tuesday in the course of your life will I have a thesis defense! Where are your priorities?
Tricia: My current goal is to see just how long I can stay away from the real working world. Just kidding, not really. :-)

Congratulations! You will feel so good the 22nd! That is a big accomplishment; it's too bad that all of your many, many friends can't be there with you to celebrate.

Why did a link to a crazy quilt of yours come up on my side blog feed and then claim to not exist when I clicked on it?

Woot! You're almost done! Congratulations!

Bec, I started a post of that title but took it down when the computer started giving me grief over the pictures. If I remember, I'll try it again soon.
